Basketball Recap: Rogers Takes a Loss

Rogers lost against Wayne County last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Rogers Pirates fell to the Wayne County Wildcats 27-22. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 287th in Alabama, while the Wildcats are ranked 105th in Tennessee).

Wayne County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayman Camfield, who posted ten points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Justice Bell, who put up 12 points.

Rogers' defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Wayne County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rogers will challenge Clements at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wayne County, they will face off against Richland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
