Pope's match on Thursday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. Their defense stepped up to hand the Sequoyah Chiefs a 3-0 shutout. Considering Pope have won four contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Pope's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Sequoyah, they dropped their record down to 6-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
