Baseball Recap: Dos Palos' Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Dos Palos came into Friday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Hilmar Yellowjackets by a score of 7-4 on Friday. The Broncos have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Yellowjackets, too.

Sixto Ibarra was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. That hit marked the first that he got this season.

In other batting news, Jax Soares was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That run was his first of the season. Tevin Clay was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Dos Palos' win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Hilmar, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-2.

Looking ahead, Dos Palos will take on Hanford West at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hilmar, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orestimba at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
