Football Game Preview: Orion Chargers vs. Kewanee Boilermakers + How To Watch

The Orion Chargers will head out on the road to challenge the Kewanee Boilermakers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Orion and ten for Kewanee dating back to last season.

On Friday, Orion was beaten by Sherrard 48-12.

Orion's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Owen Voorhees, who picked up 127 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Kale Filler, who threw for 264 yards and a pair of TDs. The Chargers are 2-1 when Voorhees posts 80 or more receiving yards, but 0-5 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Kewanee scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took a blow against Newman Central Catholic, falling 79-32. Even if the Boilermakers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Orion's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Kewanee, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Orion couldn't quite get it done against Kewanee in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 44-34. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
