Recap: Broadneck Bruins vs. Bryn Mawr Mawrtians
The Broadneck Bruins came tearing into Monday's matchup with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Bryn Mawr 46-30. Given Broadneck's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Mawrtians are ranked 149th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
London Best continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Samantha Miller was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Broadneck pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for Bryn Mawr, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Broadneck won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Northeast has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 20. As for Bryn Mawr, they will head out on the road to square off against the Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. John Carroll has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
