A well-balanced attack led Kankakee Valley over Highland in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. The Kougars took down the Trojans 51-37. That 14 point margin sets a new team best for the Kougars this season.

Kankakee Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mallorie Rose led the charge by dropping a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. What's more, Rose also posted a 67% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Jenna Walker was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

Kankakee Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highland only posted three.

Despite the loss, Highland still got an impressive performance from Jordan Steele, who posted 16 points along with six steals and five boards. The contest was Steele's 13th in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Avery Steele, who scored ten points and three steals.

Kankakee Valley now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Highland, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Kankakee Valley will head out on the road to challenge Chesterton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Kougars' defense better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 56.2 points per game this season.
