Volleyball Recap: Piedmont Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Piedmont can now relate to. They fell just short of the Urban Blues by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Highlanders' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Piedmont sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 15-25, 26-24, 24-26, 16-14.

When it comes to explaining why Piedmont lost, don't look at Olivia Stevens. Despite the final result, she had 25 digs and two assists. Stevens has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 16 times she's played.

Piedmont's record is now 9-12. As for Urban, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.

Piedmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Urban, they will head out to face off against Sonoma Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Coyotes will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Blues surely won't give up without a fight.
