Baseball Game Preview: West Ranch Wildcats vs. Castaic Coyotes

The West Ranch Wildcats will square off against the Castaic Coyotes at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: West Ranch has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Castaic will arrive with four straight wins.

West Ranch blew Castaic out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Castaic got their revenge. West Ranch fell just short of Castaic by a score of 6-4.

West Ranch saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Diaz, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most RBI Diaz has posted since back in March of 2024. Connor Clayton also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Castaic pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for West Ranch, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
