Volleyball Recap: Valley Beats Crystal City for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Valley took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Crystal City, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings skirted past the Hornets 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since September 17, 2024.

Valley was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (108-106), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-20, 16-25, 23-25, 16-14.

Reagan Schrum paced Valley's offense, picking up 15 kills. Schrum got some help from Hallie Abney and her 21 assists. Schrum also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Alivia Boyer, racking up five apiece.

Despite the loss, Crystal City still got an impressive performance from Camryn Compton, who had five digs and two aces.

Coming up, Valley will face off against Bourbon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crystal City, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Ste. Genevieve on the 10th.
