Baseball Recap: Ukiah Takes a Loss

Ukiah was the 5-1 winner over Rancho Cotate when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Ukiah took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rancho Cotate on Friday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dylan McGehee was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Deagan Dockins also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Ukiah's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Rancho Cotate, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ukiah will head out to square off against Maria Carrillo at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rancho Cotate, they will venture away from home to face off against Petaluma at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Petaluma will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Rancho Cotate surely won't give up without a fight.
