League recap: Phillipsburg stuns Bridgewater-Raritan in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Phillipsburg, who took down 63rd ranked Bridgewater-Raritan, 21-13. Alex Martin ran for 39 yards and caught two passes for 96 yards in the win.

Elizabeth extended the longest winning streak in Mid-State 38 - Delaware this week by beating Franklin, 49-13. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.

ED TRIMPERT and JOHN BANACISKI gave Hillsborough a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. TRIMPERT threw for 98 yards, while BANACISKI ran for 82 yards. NICO MUKENDI also contributed to the rushing game with 29 yards on the ground.

Thanks to the talents of TRIMPERT and BANACISKI the Raiders have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. TRIMPERT leads the league in passing with 527 yards, while BANACISKI has rushed for 586 yards this season. Hunterdon Central's Ryan Dunleavy leads the league in receiving yards with 284 on 20 catches.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Panthers take on Elizabeth. At the moment, Bridgewater-Raritan is in fourth, while John Quinn's team is in first.

There should be lots of points scored when the Stateliners and the Red Devils face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Phillipsburg comes in having scored 140 this season, while Hunterdon Central has scored 126. The Stateliners scored 21 points last week as they bested the Panthers.

The Minutemen led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on the Warriors.
