Softball Game Preview: Addison Panthers vs. Napoleon Pirates

Addison hasn't had much luck against Napoleon recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will face off against the Pirates at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Addison's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.

While Addison's victory against Bellevue wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Broncos 10-8. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Broncos recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Keira Wheaton was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Wheaton was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Wheaton wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caylee Campbell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Campbell is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Kylie Morris was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

Addison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Napoleon lost 15-5 to Clinton on Wednesday. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Redskins recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Addison's record is now 4-9. As for Napoleon, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Addison suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Napoleon in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
