Recap: Richards Warriors vs. Chicago Academy Cougars
In what's become a running theme this season, the Richards Warriors gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They put the hurt on Chicago Academy with a sharp 77-52 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Richards has posted since December 19, 2023.
Despite the loss, Chicago Academy still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Cortez, who scored 28 points along with four steals. That was a full 53.8% of Chicago Academy's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Rivera, who scored 11 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Richards and bumps their season record up to 13-9. As for Chicago Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
Richards will look to defend their home court on Monday against Ogden International at 5:00 p.m. Chicago Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Steinmetz College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on January 30th.
