Football Recap: Fishers Tigers vs. Westfield Shamrocks
Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Fishers couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 20-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westfield Shamrocks on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Shamrocks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-7 back in October.

Fishers' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gage Sturgill, who threw for 128 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 55 yards. Ryan Thembulembu helped out on the ground, rushing for 80 yards.
A big part of Westfield's victory came down to the chemistry between Aiden Grabowski and his top target Cooper Melvin. Grabowski rushed for 91 yards and one TD while Melvin rushed for 83 yards on only five carries. Those 91 rushing yards gave Grabowski a new career-high.
Fishers moved to 8-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Westfield, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.
Fishers does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westfield, they will head out to face off against Carroll at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Shamrocks will need to watch out since the Chargers have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven contests.
