Basketball Recap: Salem Hills Has No Trouble Against Mountain View

Salem Hills won the last time they faced Mountain View and things went their way on Friday too. Everything went the Salem Hills Skyhawks' way against the Mountain View Bruins as the Salem Hills Skyhawks made off with a 57-37 victory. Given the Skyhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Bruins are ranked 49th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Salem Hills had a senior duo take command as Reagan Beck went 7 of 14 on her way to 18 points and Chenielle Nye dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Beck has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Barton, who posted six points and five steals.

The win made it two in a row for Salem Hills and bumps their season record up to 10-2. As for Mountain View, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salem Hills will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Manti at 7:00 p.m. on December 31st. Mountain View will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Crimson Cliffs at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Mountain View is facing Crimson Cliffs at the right time seeing as Crimson Cliffs is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
