Basketball Recap: Arlington Eagles vs. West Point-Beemer Cadets

Arlington had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 43-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Point-Beemer Cadets on Thursday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cadets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Oliver Ladehoff, who posted 18 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brantley Fullner, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 12 points.

Among those leading the charge was Peyton Penrose, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave him a new career-high. Hunter Doggett was another key player, putting up six points.

Arlington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-50 defeat against Lakeview on the 6th. As for West Point-Beemer, they will square off against Stanton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
