Softball Recap: West Valley Wolf Pack vs. Dimond Lynx

On Thursday, West Valley faced Dimond in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The West Valley Wolf Pack lost 12-4 to the Dimond Lynx. West Valley has not had much luck with Dimond recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Madison Inderreiden led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kendra Reese, who went 2-for-3 with a triple, a run, and a double.

Even though they lost, West Valley was hitting in the alleys and finished the game with five doubles. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dimond only hit two.

On Dimond's side, the team relied heavily on Chloe Severson, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Whetten, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

West Valley's loss dropped their record down to 12-7-1. As for Dimond, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.
