Softball Recap: Kimberly Picks Up 11th Consecutive Win

Kimberly extended their winning streak to 11 on Wednesday, bumping them up to 18-1. They blew past the Filer Wildcats 17-7. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Joy Hanchey was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalynn Benson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Kimberly kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Filer only managed nine.

As for Filer, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. They have struggled against Kimberly recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

On Filer's side, Madilyne Dyer and Ella Jensen stepped up to the plate in a big way. Dyer went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Jensen went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ellie Lockwood, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Kimberly beat Filer by a score of 18-7 later that day.
