Penfield had already won 16 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it 17 on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Pittsford Panthers 8-6. That's two games straight that the Patriots have won by exactly two runs.

Claire Maley was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Allison Gardner also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Penfield hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive games.

Penfield's record is now 21-2. As for Pittsford, they moved to 25-8 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Penfield nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
