Basketball Recap: Red Lion Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Red Lion hadn't done well against Central York recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Red Lion Lions managed a 46-41 victory over the Central York Panthers. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Panthers are ranked 124th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Red Lion to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bekah Sedora, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 16 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Sedora has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Sedora, who posted 13 points and five boards.

Red Lion's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1. As for Central York, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-6 record.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Red Lion Lions take on the William Penn Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Central York, they will welcome Northeastern at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
