Basketball Recap: East Wake Takes a Loss

After flying high against Enloe on Friday, East Wake came back down to earth. The Warriors fell 46-33 to the Clayton Comets on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Comets: they've now lost five in a row.

Y'Zana Lee Randle had an outrageously good game for Clayton as she went 8-for-17 to rack up 22 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Those eight boards gave Lee Randle a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gabrielle Goode, who posted 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

East Wake's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Clayton, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, East Wake will face off against Pinecrest at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Clayton, they will challenge Harnett Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
