Volleyball Game Preview: Sunset Knights vs. Ransom Everglades Raiders

The Sunset Knights will head out to challenge the Ransom Everglades Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ransom Everglades took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Sunset, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Sunset turned things around against Braddock on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Bulldogs.

Sunset easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Ransom Everglades didn't have quite enough to beat Florida Christian on Thursday and fell 3-2.

Ransom Everglades came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-22, 23-25, 19-25, 15-13.

Sunset will need to focus on slowing down Lola Picchetti, one of several Ransom Everglades players who made an impact when they last played. She had 49 digs and four aces. With that strong performance, Picchetti is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game. Another player making a difference was Nalah Picchetti, who had 15 digs and seven aces.

Ransom Everglades has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Sunset, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
