Recap: San Jacinto Tigers vs. Tahquitz Titans
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the San Jacinto Tigers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 60-52 victory over Tahquitz. That result was just more of the same for these two, as San Jacinto also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Leading San Jacinto to victory were Josiah Mejia and Stephen Castleberry. Mejia dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds, while Castleberry dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was Castleberry's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Erik Gonzalez, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
The win got San Jacinto back to even at 6-6. As for Tahquitz, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Jacinto will square off against Perris at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tahquitz, they will head out on the road to face off against Ramona at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ramona is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
