Soccer Recap: Firebaugh Takes a Loss

Firebaugh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Porterville Panthers, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 350th, while the Panthers are ranked 22nd).

Firebaugh's loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1. As for Porterville, their win bumped their record up to 9-0-1.

Firebaugh will take on Chowchilla in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Porterville, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Tulare Western on the 14th.
