Basketball Recap: Marysville Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Marysville pushed their score to 65 the last time they played Dublin Jerome, but on Friday they couldn't quite do it again. The Marysville Monarchs took down the Dublin Jerome Celtics 37-21. Given the Monarchs' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Celtics are ranked 585th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marysville's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Dublin Jerome, their loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marysville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Olentangy Berlin at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Marysville is facing Olentangy Berlin at the right time seeing as Olentangy Berlin is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Dublin Jerome, they will face off against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Dublin Jerome will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Lincoln will have lost four straight heading into Monday's contest.
