Volleyball Recap: Newark Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Newark can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Dublin Jerome Celtics on Thursday. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 21-25, 25-10.

Makayla Meister paced Newark's offense, picking up 20 kills. Meister got some help from Peyton Sherman and her 30 assists. Sherman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Newark's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Dublin Jerome, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-4.

Newark does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dublin Jerome, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Olentangy Liberty on the 29th.
