Baseball Recap: Gilbert Tigers vs. Higley Knights
Gilbert had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 10-14 to make it four. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Higley Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on Monday.
Carter Watson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Noah Dinero also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
As for Higley, they now have a winning record of 12-11. The victory made it back-to-back wins for they.
On Higley's side, they got a great performance from Niko Lekousis as he tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Lekousis has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.
