NCSSM: Durham hadn't beaten Chatham Charter on the road since November 13, 2015 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Unicorns were the clear victors by a 46-22 margin over the Knights. For the Unicorns, this counts as revenge for the 47-26 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.
Caroline Meaney was nothing short of spectacular: she posted 12 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Katherine Sproul, who had eight points along with six rebounds and five steals.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: NCSSM: Durham was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chatham Charter only posted two.
Despite the loss, Chatham Charter saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Peyton York put up ten points and three steals. Kynzie Jordan was another key player, putting up two points and five steals.
NCSSM: Durham has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. As for Chatham Charter, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Chatham Charter has already played their next contest, a 53-44 defeat against Phoenix Academy on the 11th. Hopefully NCSSM: Durham paid attention to the Knights' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
