It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Village Christian Crusaders can now relate to. They were dealt a 89-53 defeat at the hands of the Eagles on Wednesday. Village Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-22.
When it comes to explaining why Village Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Andy Porcayo. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with five rebounds. Sydney Natche was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Village Christian dropped their record down to 19-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Etiwanda, their win bumped their record up to 24-5.
Village Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Etiwanda, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-39 win vs. Rancho Verde on the 9th.
