Football Recap: Pahranagat Valley Panthers vs. Tonopah Muckers

After flying high against Laughlin last Friday, Pahranagat Valley came back down to earth. The Panthers took a 26-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tonopah Muckers on Friday. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Dustin Otteson produced another solid effort rushing for 275 yards and three scores while picking up 10.2 yards per carry, and also throwing for 132 yards on only nine passes for Tonopah. Otteson also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles. Adelaido Salgado was another key player, picking up 75 receiving yards and one TD.

Having lost for the first time this season, Pahranagat Valley fell to 5-1. As for Tonopah, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Pahranagat Valley and Tonopah will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Panthers see the field they'll take on Sandy Valley at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. As for Tonopah, their break will end when they face Spring Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on October 10.
