Football Recap: Rodriguez Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Escalon, Rodriguez was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took down the Benicia Panthers 31-14. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Panthers are ranked 579th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The critical scores for Rodriguez came from Mancianno Syess, David Sischo, and Darian Charles.

One reason for the win was Rodriguez's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for nine sacks. It was truly a group effort as Nehemiah Childs, Brayden Hartt, and Amare Williams-Palaamo picked up two apiece.

Rodriguez pushed their record up to 1-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rodriguez will host Armijo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Benicia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Las Lomas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
