Softball Recap: Regis Jesuit Comes Up Short

Regis Jesuit extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 2-5. They lost 28-18 to the Monarch Coyotes. Even though they lost, the Raiders' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 7.7 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Kendal Craven led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Alexis Colvin was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

As for Monarch, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Monarch's side, Hailey Paddock was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Adams, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Regis Jesuit will take on Smoky Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Buffaloes have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Monarch, they will challenge Centaurus at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so the Coyotes' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
