Volleyball Recap: Lake Nona Falls Despite Big Games from Rylan Beard and Jonathan Mckenna

Lake Nona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Winter Park Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, Lake Nona had strong showings from Jonathan Mckenna, who had 12 digs and one assist, and Rylan Beard, who had seven kills, five digs, and two aces. Mckenna has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last four times he's played.

Lake Nona's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Winter Park, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Lake Nona wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against University on the 11th. As for Winter Park, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Freedom on the 12th.
