The Southwest DeKalb Panthers won the last time they faced the Stephenson Jaguars, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Southwest DeKalb strolled past Stephenson with points to spare, taking the game 47-32. The win made it back-to-back wins for Southwest DeKalb.
Kelvin Peek, III continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 12 points. Messiah Mergan was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.
Southwest DeKalb's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Stephenson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Southwest DeKalb will face off against Holy Innocents Episcopal at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Holy Innocents Episcopal presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southwest DeKalb in Georgia (Holy Innocents Episcopal is ranked 43rd, while Southwest DeKalb is ranked 247th). As for Stephenson, they will be playing at home against Miller Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Miller Grove is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
