Volleyball Recap: Jay Finds Playoff Glory Versus Baker + How To Watch

Jay extended their postseason success on Thursday against Baker. They had just enough and edged out the Gators 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Royals have posted since October 1, 2024.

Their offense was headlined by Darby Godwin and Aubreigh Nelson, who picked up 16 kills apiece. They got some help from Bailey Lowry and her 33 assists. Nelson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Despite the defeat, Baker saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bailey Johnson had 29 digs and two assists. Those 29 digs set a new season-high mark for Johnson.

The victory (which was Jay's fifth in a row) raised their record to 21-4. As for Baker, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, Jay and Cottondale will shake off the rust and duke it out at 2:00 p.m. on the 25th. As for Baker, they will head out to square off against Chipley at 2:00 p.m. on the 25th.
