Volleyball Recap: Pecatonica Finds Playoff Glory Versus Belmont

Pecatonica extended their postseason success on Saturday against Belmont. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Braves. The victory was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on three straight.

Pecatonica's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tatum Kurschner led the charge by getting eight digs, six kills, and three aces. Kurschner has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 13 times she's played. Ella Orloff was another key player, getting 24 digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Pecatonica was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in ten consecutive contests.

Pecatonica's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Belmont, the loss snapped their winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 10-14 record.

Looking ahead, Pecatonica will challenge Southwestern on Thursday. Belmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
