Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Dickinson walked away with it. They secured a 51-47 W over the Atascocita Eagles on Friday. The Gators' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

A big part of Dickinson's win came down to the chemistry between Lorenzo Aguirre and his top target Kaileb Peterson. Aguirre threw for 310 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt while Peterson gained 221 total yards. What's more, Peterson racked up 50 receiving yards, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Atascocita still got an impressive performance from Cardae Mack, who rushed for 225 yards and three scores while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 290 yards and three TDs. Mack's passing game has become a key predictor of the Eagles' success: the team is 6-2 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise.

Dickinson's record is now 11-0. As for Atascocita, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Dickinson will challenge Pearland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Oilers' defense has only allowed 12.5 points per game this season, so the Gators' offense will have their work cut out for them. Atascocita does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
