Baseball Recap: Parklane Academy Comes Up Short

Parklane Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 9-3 to the Oak Forest Academy Yellowjackets. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, with their most recent loss being a 14-0 defeat on Thursday.

Braxton Hughes was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was George Glass, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Parklane Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Oak Forest Academy, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parklane Academy will square off against Bowling Green at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oak Forest Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Columbia Academy at 6:30 p.m. on April 8.
