Basketball Recap: Eastlake Comes Up Short

Eastlake lost against Lake Washington back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Eastlake Wolves were dealt a 71-43 defeat at the hands of the Lake Washington Kangaroos. The contest marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Eastlake's loss came despite strong showings from Megan Roberts and Brooke Mccartney. Roberts went 8 for 17 en route to 22 points, while Mccartney dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 boards. That's the most rebounds Mccartney has posted since back in December of 2024. Alicia Yoo also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steals of the season.

Even though they lost, Eastlake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Eastlake has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.9 points per game. As for Lake Washington, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Eastlake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-60 victory against Bothell on the 31st. As for Lake Washington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-52 loss against Woodinville on the 31st.
