Football Recap: North Brunswick Comes Up Short

North Brunswick lost against Hoggard back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Scorpions lost 35-13 to the Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Scorpions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Vikings are ranked 14th).

Although North Brunswick took the loss, they still got scores from Kane Jenrette and Jaden Cokeley.

Hoggard's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but David Hunter led the charge by rushing for 63 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Matthew Boring was another key passer, throwing for 246 yards and one TD while completing 74.1% of his passes.

This is the second loss in a row for North Brunswick and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Hoggard, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

North Brunswick didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-40 defeat against Laney on the 31st. As for Hoggard, they have also already played their next matchup, a 38-8 victory against Ashley on the 31st.
