Volleyball Game Preview: Waunakee Warriors vs. Onalaska Hilltoppers

The Waunakee Warriors will face off against the Onalaska Hilltoppers on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Waunakee is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past La Crosse Central 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Waunakee walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-21, 25-13, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Onalaska got the win against Middleton on Saturday by a conclusive 3-0.

Onalaska never let Middleton on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 25-23.

Waunakee's victory bumped their record up to 38-8. As for Onalaska, their win bumped their record up to 21-9.

Waunakee was able to grind out a solid victory over Onalaska in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, winning 3-1. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Hilltoppers' Anna Skemp, who had 27 digs and three aces. Now that she won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for the Warriors to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
