Football Game Preview: C.A. Johnson Hornets vs. Lamar Silver Foxes + How To Watch

C.A. Johnson is 0-4 against Lamar since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Hornets will head out to square off against the Silver Foxes at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, C.A. Johnson didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Great Falls, but they still walked away with a 20-16 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won six in a row.

Meanwhile, Lamar never let their opponents score on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lee Central 41-0. The Silver Foxes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Lamar's win came from a few key players C.A. Johnson will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tj Samuel, who rushed for 89 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries. Nygel Eaddy was another key player, rushing for 75 yards and one TD on only eight carries.

Lamar was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 265 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 233 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

Lamar didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Josh Dials and Eaddy. Dials got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Lamar's record is now 6-2. As for C.A. Johnson, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

C.A. Johnson took a serious blow against Lamar in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 49-16. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
