The Lincoln Lutheran Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge Thurston-Cuming County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln Lutheran is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Lincoln Lutheran is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Falls City 15-3 on Monday. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly 12 runs.

Owen Holle and Dane Portsche were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Holle struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Portsche pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave Holle a new career-high. At the plate, Holle scored a run while going 3-for-5, while Portsche went 2-for-4 with one RBI. That run was Holle's first of the season.
In other pitching news, Brecken Mumaugh looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Gavin Cornell, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Preston Rodencal also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Lincoln Lutheran kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Falls City only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Thurston-Cuming County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Arlington 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Thurston-Cuming County has posted against Arlington since March 28, 2017.
Jaxen Breitbarth was incredible, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Welsh, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
The win (which was Thurston-Cuming County's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Lincoln Lutheran, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Thurston-Cuming County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lincoln Lutheran hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. It's a different story for Thurston-Cuming County, though, as they've only averaged .226. Will they be able to contain Lincoln Lutheran's hitters?
Lincoln Lutheran came out on top in a nail-biter against Thurston-Cuming County in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
