Football Game Preview: Jeannette Jayhawks vs. Riverview Raiders + How To Watch

Jeannette is a perfect 10-0 against Riverview since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Jayhawks will look to defend their home field against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jeannette has three straight victories, Riverview has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, everything came up roses for Jeannette against Springdale as the squad secured a 50-8 win. The Jayhawks' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

A big part of Jeannette's victory came down to the chemistry between Kymone Brown and his top target Jayce Powell. Brown threw for 170 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 passes while Powell picked up 122 receiving yards and two TDs. Brown's passing game has become a key predictor of Jeannette's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Jeannette, racking up 15 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Hunter Schaeffer, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Riverview fell victim to Clairton and their airtight defense on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 66-0 loss at the hands of the Bears. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 407th, while the Bears are ranked 110th).

Jeannette's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Riverview, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Jeannette strolled past Riverview when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 34-20. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Raiders' Alex Schultheis, who rushed for 93 yards and one score, and also picked up 85 receiving yards.
