Volleyball Game Preview: Cobden Appleknockers vs. Egyptian Pharaohs + How To Watch

The Cobden Appleknockers will take on the Egyptian Pharaohs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cobden is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Cobden came up short against Elverado and fell 2-0.

While Cobden had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Egyptian also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Century by a score of 2-0. The Pharaohs haven't had much luck with the Centurions recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-14.

Egyptian now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Cobden, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 8-11.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Cobden has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Egyptian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Cobden was able to grind out a solid victory over Egyptian in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. Do the Appleknockers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pharaohs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
