Softball Recap: Redwood Christian Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Redwood Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Lick-Wilmerding Tigers with a sharp 19-9 victory. Considering the Eagles have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Redwood Christian got a massive performance out of Micaiah Leyva, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Kayla Keller also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Leyva wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Redwood Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. Redwood Christian is a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Redwood Christian picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 5-6. As for Lick-Wilmerding, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Redwood Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Joseph Notre Dame at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lick-Wilmerding, they will head out to face off against Urban on Friday.
