Recap: Jordan-Matthews Jets vs. Northwood Chargers

The Jordan-Matthews Jets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Northwood, falling 58-13. Jordan-Matthews was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-11.

Several Jets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jada Scott, who scored five points along with seven rebounds. Saniya White was another key contributor, scoring four points.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Jordan-Matthews struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Northwood racked up 12 assists.

Northwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mikaylah Glover led the charge by scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Neah Henry, who scored 15 points along with five steals.

Jordan-Matthews' defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Northwood, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jordan-Matthews will challenge North Moore at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Overhills at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Overhills will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 358th, while Northwood is ranked 69th).
