Baseball Recap: Jerome Takes a Loss

If Jerome was feeling good fresh off their 15-2 takedown of Caldwell last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jerome Tigers fell just short of the Nampa Bulldogs by a score of 11-9 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered since April 12, 2024.

Julian Orozco put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Orozco was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

In other batting news, Brett Harrison made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Mason Garcia was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Jerome's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Nampa, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Jerome will square off against Canyon Ridge at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Nampa, they will face off against Sugar-Salem at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
