Basketball Recap: Eight Straight Home Victories for Eureka

Eureka had won seven straight home games dating back to last season and Megan Johnson did her part to make it eight on Tuesday. The Eureka Vandals claimed a resounding 53-4 victory over the Lund Mustangs thanks in part to Johnson, who went 9 of 15 en route to 18 points along with seven steals and six boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Corbi Brown, who posted six points and three steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Eureka's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Lund, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eureka has already played their next game (against Wells), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lund will face off against Jackpot at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lund is facing Jackpot at the right time seeing as Jackpot is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
