Volleyball Recap: Gideon Falls Despite Big Games from Aubree Sharp and Jalynn Ford

After flying high against Risco on Thursday, Gideon came back down to earth. The Bulldogs lost 3-0 to the Bell City Cubs on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Cubs: they've now lost five in a row.

While Gideon ultimately came up short, they really made Bell City work, particularly in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-14, 27-25.

Gideon's loss came despite strong showings from Jalynn Ford and Aubree Sharp. Ford had 21 digs, while Sharp had 26 assists and ten digs. Sharp has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more assists the last 30 times she's played.

Gideon's loss dropped their record down to 26-3. As for Bell City, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

Gideon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Southland on the 13th. As for Bell City, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Dexter on the 16th.
